Don Waldrip
AAAP Hall of Honor

Don was born in Cumming, Georgia (USA) He attended the University of North Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia, Veterinary School in 1962. He is a Diplomate of the ACPV.
Don served as Captain in the US Air Force. He was a small animal practitioner in Atlanta, Ga., an Associate Director and Clinician for the Georgia Poultry Laboratory System, and Director of Veterinary Services of 3 major poultry producer companies, Foster Farms in Livingston, Ca., Gold Kist Inc. in Atlanta, Ga., and Wayne Farms in Oakwood, Ga. He was also senior veterinarian for Pfizer/Zoetis.
He served as AAAP President from 1990-1991. He was also ACPV president and chair diplomate of the Exam Committee. He was awarded the AAAP Special Services Award in 2007. He has also been awarded the US Poultry and Egg Association Lamplighter Award.
Don has been married to Gladys for 50+ years and has two children, Sheri and Chris. He has 5 grandchildren Carley, Taylor, Carson, Zach, and Camille.
Don’s hobbies include marathoning, hiking, biking, choral music, and hunting/shooting.
